Terms of Use
Terms
Last updated [date when final]
These terms cover your use of Candlelit for Couples, made by PileUp Digital. Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement also applies. If the two conflict, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.
Using Candlelit
- Use Candlelit only with a partner who agrees to it. It is for two people choosing to put their phones down together, never for controlling or monitoring someone.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the service, or guess other people's invite codes.
- Keep your display name decent. It is shown to your partner.
Not a safety device
During a date, calls and emergency calls keep working, and the emergency exit gives your phone back at any time. Even so, don't start a date when you might need your phone urgently, and never rely on Candlelit for anything safety-critical. App blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time and may not always work.
Subscriptions
Candlelit has a free tier and an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. One subscription covers you and your partner while you are paired; it belongs to the person who bought it. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple ID settings. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Changes and availability
We may change or stop features, and we will try to give notice of big changes in the app. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service.
No warranty
Candlelit is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, PileUp Digital is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
